I’m Laura Ireland. I’ve worked as a cardiac nurse for almost twenty years and in my free time have dabbled in lots of hobbies. I love to bake, read, and take my dog Daisy for walks. Over the years I followed along with the family history research Kim was doing with a fair amount of interest. I was always wondering if she would find the connection to our supposed ancestor, General Johnny Burgoyne. But when Ancestry DNA came on the scene, that brought my interest to a whole new level. Now many of the connections are right there in front of us, and they don’t always represent the stories we were told. Long-buried secrets were exposed by the DNA we’ve inherited, and we gained some insight into the lives of those who live on in our genes.
